AUSTAR: Competition to reward existing customers

AUSTAR planned the AUSTAR Carnival competition to reward its existing customers for their loyalty. This competition urged viewers to nominate their town to be the host of the AUSTAR Carnival – with rides and entertainment, all free for the entire family.

To nominate their town, subscribers were urged to go online, fill in the entry form with a photo of their town and answer in 25 words or less “What’s the best thing about your town?”

Universal Gift Cards were the ideal solution to entice AUSTAR’s customers to get involved in the competition, as they can be used anywhere VISA is accepted in store and online.

Each week for six weeks five entries were chosen to receive a $50 Universal Gift Card. The entries who received a Universal Gift Card were judged as the best and most creative by the panel of judges.

“We used Universal Gift Cards for the first time last year and our customers loved them! Being a company with regional customers it’s difficult to find prizes that all our customers are able to use – the Visa Prepaid Gift Cards solved that problem,” said Roslyn Casey, Marketing Executive – Customer Relations, AUSTAR Entertainment.

“We had an amazing response to our competition, and our customers had the flexibility to use the prize however they wanted!”
